You’ve been envisioning perfectly light and airy portraits to introduce your new baby since you found out you were pregnant. Then all of a sudden it’s crunch time and your in-home newborn photos are coming up! Let’s start with, it doesn’t matter what season it is when you book an in-home newborn session on Long Island because you should wear whatever makes you feel beautiful!

Start with mama,
if you don’t feel good then no photos are good! This Huntington mama picked the perfect white dress which created movement, didn’t reflect a bright color into her skin, and the sleeve made it perfect for Winter in Huntington, NY.
Limit patterns.
We want to focus on you! Mixing textures and a single pattern is the perfect way to add dimension and interest without taking away from you.

Forget the matchy-matchy and choose complimentary colors.
Once your outfit is decided, pick the pattern. Pull a color from the pattern as another color to bring in for a spouse or sibling.

Stay away from neon and logos.
Bright, neon colors can reflect into your skin and onto the baby’s face. Let’s keep it simple with soft colors which complement my shooting and editing style. Logos can be distracting. Your newborn photos should feel timeless!

One Last Note On..Socks…
Dad’s socks are always a thing! Get ahead of it and lessen the tension and pick out a matching pair that looks fresh and light in color. When I say it’s a thing, I mean it!
